actronic brushless Controller
actronic 45 / actronic 45bec / actronic 45HD / actronic 45 HDbec
This series represents the successor to the proven actronic 40-18 and actronic 40-32 units. New features include the very broad cell count range of 7 ? 32 NiCd / NiMH or 3 ? 10 LiIo / LiPo (6 ? 45 V), and the integral receiver power supply (actronic 45 bec / actronic 45 HDbec), which is able to deliver its full power over the whole of the voltage range.
The receiver power supply (BEC - Battery Eliminator Circuit) is based on a switch-mode converter, guaranteeing maximum efficiency over the full voltage range at very high output currents. Conventional receiver power supplies using linear regulators may fail due to overheating if the battery voltage (cell count) is excessive, but this cannot occur with the new circuit, whilst physical size and potential radio interference are minimised through the use of the latest components. Even higher peak BEC currents can be drawn if a supplementary NiCd receiver battery is used; it can simply be wired in parallel. Fitting a small 600 mAh battery raises the peak current to 9 A - at the maximum cell count
To ensure that the reliability of the actronic 45 is as high as possible, the design uses SMT components exclusively, and the latest ultra low-loss ceramic capacitors have now replaced the standard electrolytic capacitors at the battery input for enormously improved reliability, especially in the part-load range (mid-throttle settings); burst electrolytic capacitors caused by overheating are now a thing of the past.
These actronic controllers feature jumpers which are used to set them for forward / reverse operation, and to switch the EMF brake on and off. The commutation is adjustable, so that the units work with maximum efficiency with our actro 60 range and LRK motors.
Speed regulation (governor) mode is possible with these controllers with or without our Controlpanel V3, although the governor settings and maximum speed are fixed if the Controlpanel is not used. The actronic 45HD and actronic 45 HDbec are designed expressly for heavy-duty usage, i.e. continuous operation. For better cooling they feature enlarged heat-sinks and cooling fans which ensure trouble-free continuous operation even under unfavourable cooling conditions.

actronic 80-32
This new controller for sensorless actro motors has been specifically developed to cope with continuous high-current loads. Power losses are kept at a minimal level by the use of low-resistance power transistors, while the generous cooling area ensures reliable heat dissipation - a feature which is indispensable for continuous running. Typical applications for this unit are large-scale aircraft and high-power glider tugs, as well as high-performance model helicopters. Impressive features of this actronic speed controller include numerous safety functions such as temperature monitor, low-voltage monitor, current limiting, power-on guard, fail-safe functions with PPM receivers, and an opto-coupler for suppressing radio interference, as well as ultra-simple operation without the need for complex and tedious programming procedures. Additional facilities include the switchable EMF brake and energy feedback function. The latter is particularly useful with power models which are required to slow down in downward passages. With airbrakes (flaps, spoilers) the excess energy is simply dissipated, but in this case the propeller operates in windmill mode, converting the actro motor into a generator. The actronic controller then feeds the energy generated back into the battery.

actronic 120
Modellers are constantly demanding more and more power, and this can be achieved by designing a system with higher current drain and also with a higher cell-count battery.
The new actronic 120 fulfils both requirements. The actronic 120 offers the same functions as the actronic 80-32, but can now cope with up to 12 Lithium cells or 38 NiCd / NiMH cells, with a maximum permissible current of 120 A.
The high maximum current capacity is achieved through the use of MOSFETS of even lower loss design, together with a larger heat-sink. As with all new actronic controllers, this type also employs ceramic capacitors at the battery input. They are ultra low-loss types and are extremely reliable. For the first time the use of a large heat-sink and ceramic capacitors enables this unit to operate under arduous conditions (continuous running at part-throttle settings) with high reliability; a typical example would be a high-performance model helicopter.
The actronic 120 controller features jumpers which are used to set it for forward / reverse operation, and to switch the EMF brake on and off.
