The actro Compact motors define a kind of new class of brushless motors, characterized by the following properties:  

• brushless, sensorless commutated synchron motor
• consequently designed for direct drive due to the outside rotor design
• variable mounting, power take-off possible at the front and at the rear
• small weight, compact construction
• high mechanical and thermal robustness
• maximum efficiency around 85% 
• designed for 7-14 cells and propeller diameter up to 12inches

Construction of actro Compact motors

These actro Compact motors are the ideal extension to our bigger actro motors. Especially the both sided power take-off allows flexible mounting. For some smaller models it is difficult to mount an actro motor, but an actro Compact motor can be fixed almost in every model. An actro Compact motor is mounted at the front as »usual« motors are. The power take-off is in this case the 5mm shaft. This is common practice in sailplanes. But it is also possible to use the outside rotor directly for power take-off. The motor is mounted similar like the normal actro motors where the rotor is at the front of the model. Therefore, the usual actro propeller adapters are required. Due to the outside rotor principle and the design with 14 magnet dewars enormous torque and small weight could be combined. The open construction leads to an excellent air cooling of the motor. 

For which models are actro Compact motors suitable? 

The application range of these motors containes models equiped with 7-14 cells and propelles of 8-12 inches diameter. This means small to medium gliders and motor planes up to approx. 2.5 kg total weight, which could be driven so far only with haevier and/or gear boxed engines.
