actro brushless motors
actro motors combine most modern drive technology and best robustness properties. This combination makes actro motors to ideal engines for rough modelling applications. The following properties characterize actro motors:
- brushless, sensorless commutated synchron motor
- outside rotation motor of high torque for direct drive applications
- nearly wearless, because free of mechanical collector and gear boxes
- high efficiency and polished construction lead to best thermal and mechanical robustness
Construction of actro motors
Due to the outside rotation principle and the 8 magnet pole design enormous torque and low weight are achieved. The open designed form of the rotating case ensure an excellent air cooling of the complete motor. The result are best persistence properties also on high performance. The remarkable compact form of the motors and the robust designed two sided bearing of the rotor care about a calm run even in combination with largest propellers, the motors are especially developed for.
For which models are actro motors suitable?
The answer is simple: for almost all. If you want to drive efficiently a 2kg glider, a large scale motor plane of 8kg, or a helicopter with 10-30 cells an actro motor suits in every case; probably except of airplanes designed for Speed 400 motors and ducted fan models with less than 20 cells.
Especially, when best persistence and part load properties are required actro motors demonstrate their strength. Because of this, they are predestinated for all motor airplanes, particularly those with airobatic ambitions or for air towing. But also in gliders actro motors present their advantages, lifting your model without any noise of a gear box efficiently driven by a large folding propeller.
The actro 12 motors are conceived due to their very compact form for small and medium sizes models of 7-18 cells and propeller diameters up to 14 inch. For helicopter models are 10 to maximum 24 cells the best voltage range.
The actro 24 motors is recommended for medium to large models of 12-28 cells and propeller diameters up to 18 inch. For helicopter models of 20-32 cells are actro 24motors best choice.
actro 24 Heli
The new actro 24 Helicopter series allows similar motor installation to conventional power plant types: the motor is simply attached by two or four M3 screws fitted from the front. The motor cables exit the case at right-angles to the motor axis, which is an advantage with many helicopters. The motors? performance data is identical to that of normal actro 24 types, but there is a weight saving of 30 - 40 g with this new design (weight approx. 330 g) over the normal actro 24, as no additional hub is required. The motors feature a 5 mm Ø output shaft, although internally the shaft is 6 mm thick and is carried in heavy-duty ballraces, making it capable of absorbing the considerable gearbox forces of modern high-performance helicopters. actro 24 Heli motors are available with 3, 4 and 5 winds .
With actro 40 motors a so far unreached torque domain for direct driven models of weights above 5kg is opened. Propellers with diameters of more than 20 inch can be driven without any problems. The progress in accu technology concerning the capacity increase and mass reduction join with actro motors to powerfull and efficient drives for large scale airplanes and air towing models with flight durations up to now nearly impossible.
actro 18
This series of motors is designed for simple installation in models with a nose bulkhead. The range of applications extends from 2.5 kg aerobatic models to large-span electric gliders and electric helicopters with all-up weights of 2.5 to 10 kg. The special design of these motors includes an integral cooling system, making them suitable for continuous running even in highly stressed model helicopters. The combination of very high efficiency and extreme peak power levels makes these motors of interest to anyone keen on high-performance models.
actro 18-3h
This motor is suitable for relatively small, fast, slim power models weighing up to about 3 kg, with a maximum of 16 NC or 5S LiPo cells. The motor is also the perfect choice for high-performance model helicopters weighing up to about 3 kg and powered by 6S LiPo packs. A sensible range of maximum operating currents for this motor is 40 - 70 A (depending on cooling and rotational speed).
actro 18-4h
This motor can handle larger propellers than the actro 18-3h, and this makes it an excellent all-round unit for use in power models weighing up to 3.5 kg, with a maximum of 20 NC or 6S LiPo cells. It is also a good choice for fairly large electric gliders with a maximum all-up weight of 5 kg (max. 14 NC or 4S LiPo packs). The motor is an excellent choice for model helicopters weighing up to about 4 kg, powered by 8S battery packs. A sensible range of maximum operating currents for this motor is 35 - 55 A (depending on cooling and rotational speed).
actro 18-5h
The actro 18-5h comes into its own whenever large propellers and low weight are required. This makes it the ideal power plant for old-timer models weighing up to about 4 kg, and electric gliders up to about 5 kg. The smaller scale model helicopters weighing up to 5 kg (8 - 10S LiPo packs) are also a good match to this unit. A sensible range of maximum operating currents for this motor is 30 - 50 A (depending on cooling and rotational speed).
actro 32 max
actro 32 heli motors are now available in more powerful versions with even lower internal resistance, enabling them to handle higher currents and deliver maximum performance. This is achieved by the adoption of a more sophisticated winding pattern with a higher copper fill ratio.
The heli range of actro 32 motors can be installed in the model just like conventional designs, i.e. the power plant is simply attached from the front using two of four M3 screws. The motor cables exit the motor at right-angles to the motor shaft; an arrangement which offers advantages in many model helicopters.
This new design allows you to save about 30 - 40 g compared to normal actro motors when you consider that an additional hub is not required. The motors feature 5 mm and 8 mm shaft steps; internally the shaft is of 6 mm diameter, and runs in heavy-duty ballraces designed to absorb the gearbox forces encountered in modern helicopters and 8 mm high-performance machines. actro heli motors are available with 3, 4 and 5 winds.
actro 32-3gold, 32-4gold und 32-5gold motors
Compared with the proven actro32 max series these motors boast improved performance combined with reduced weight (400 g incl. 8 cm connecting leads), thanks to the use of the latest neodymium magnets with extreme flux density and high temperature resistance (150°C) and newly calculated rotor geometry.
The performance increase is due to reduced resistance (lower Ohm rating): approximately 7% lower than the actro 32max, and 12% lower than the actro 32). In visual terms the changes are accentuated by the gold-anodised aluminium parts. Special design features promote efficient cooling.
This motor is suitable for heavy scale helicopters and extremely high-performance choppers which have to withstand increased continuous and peak currents.
Since this motor is designed for severe loads, it is supplied as standard with a long shaft designed to accept an additional ballrace for extra support.
